The Global Neurotrauma Outcomes Study (GNOS) aims to provide a comprehensive picture of the management of neurotrauma worldwide. Centres can be registered to gather data concerning traumatic brain injury patients seen in any consecutive 30-day period between 1st October 2018 and 1st October 2019. So far, 54 sites have registered for the study across 31 different countries. Of these, 70% have begun data collection and 19% have completed data collection.

Global Neurotrauma Outcomes Study 1 (GNOS‐1)
Written by Dom Mahoney, MSTrauma remains the leading cause of death among those under the age of 45, with brain injury playing a significant role in determining mortality. Traumatic brain injury (TBI), therefore, exerts a considerable burden on healthcare systems, with remarkable geographical differences in treatments. The WFNS has collaborated with the NHS National Institute for Health Research to comprehensively investigate the surgical management of TBI. This is the first worldwide study of this nature, and the investigators invite you and your unit to participate.
